Club to invite Donna Greenamyer to make her presentation and the club will buy her dinner. 2011 SHOW: Details of the budget have been discussed with CCA Show Chair Craig Leslie. Many common costs will be shared by both clubs. Banquest fee will be $25, but will actually cost closer to $35. CCA will pick up the difference. The Ball Room is $1,500 per night for four nights. Costs are mitigated on a sliding scale by the number of room rented for our event. For every forty rooms we rent we get one comped room for a judge. Kathy Smith said this contract is the same as Chicago Marriott contract, tried and true. We need to post our ad copy and trophy donation request in the Chi Chatter in time to be printed before the show. Editor Bev LeFleur can give us all the information. We need to take out a half page ad in Los Chihuahuas for the show also. CCA has a master e-mail list. We will have access to that list. Kathy Smith and Becky Yohonn were asked to assemble and type job descriptions to help make things go smoothly. Stephanie Shultes , our sweepstakes judge, will receive one night paid hotel room, two banquet dinners (for herself and a guest) , a judge’s gift, a premium list and a show schedule per her contract. Frank Sabella, our conformation judge, will receive three nights paid hotel room, $500 per day judging fee for two days, air fare of approximately $300, allowance for meals $150, and two banquet dinners (for himself and a guest), a judge’s gift, a premium list and a show schedule per his contract. Becky Yohonn will do Judge’s Transportation and Hospitality responsibilities, including making two welcome baskets. Check job description list to see details. There were issues with ribbons and the catalog for past Jack Bradshaw specialties. Kathy Smith wrote an official list of required classes and awards and will send it to the Show Superintendent. RING STEWARDS: Possibilities are still being discussed. 20/20 FORMAL EVENT: After sweeps on Thursday there will be a $25 entry fee to watch the top 20 dogs in the country be judged by a European style panel of judges. Dessert will be served. This will be a semi-formal event. All costs for this event are being covered by Kenny Saenz and his Top 20 group. A separate contract is being arranged between them and the hotel. DONATIONS/ADS: Linda Randall, Kathy Smith and Sandra Pescina will confer over this. SHOW PHOTOGRAPHER: Most of our usual photographers are previously engaged that weekend. We will most likely have Kohler’s of Phoenix, but we are waiting to hear about dates for other shows affecting their availability. SHOW VET: Dr. Cavanaugh will do rabies shots/health certificates the last half day of the show for those who may need them to fly. Dr. Metzger on Riverside Drive in Chino (6 ½ miles away from Marriott) will be our emergency vet. He will be on call. OVERNIGHT VET: The nearest emergency vet will be listed in the Premium with directions. WELCOME TABLE: All exhibitors will check in at the Welcome Table and receive a welcome bag full of helpful items, i.e. floor plastic and newspapers. They will sign a code of ethics form referring to hotel rules. Each exhibitor will receive a gift from the club. This desk must be manned Wednesday afternoon and evening, up until the Welcoming Party, and all day on the show days. GIFT BAGS: Beckey Bond presented her research on bags. We could get 500 painted paper based bags 500 for $425. Linda presented canvas bags with logo – 2 colors, 300 for $245. Kathy Smith moved we get the canvas bags to use as welcome gifts and purchase the painted bags with just the club logo to sell over time as a fundraiser. Linda Randall seconded. Motion carried. WELCOMING PARTY ENTERTAINMENT: We are looking into the possibility of getting a few show business impersonators to attend and entertain at the welcoming party. The Welcoming Party will be Wednesday evening from 6pm to 9pm in a separate area. SCCC hosts this event and will provide refreshments with a cash bar. Decorations including collages, etc. are being planned by Doreen Blank who heads up this committee. FUN MATCH: We are planning a Fun Match and our meeting to be held May 16, 2010 in one of two parks in Tustin. It will be a great day to bring out puppies and dogs, do some training and pretend showing and have a wonderful picnic afternoon. We are going to offer, for Chihuahuas only, conformation classes (entry $5 per dog), handling class ($1 per dog ringside). We are planning a raffle and a costume contest. Tara Arnold will provide dog portraits for $5 per picture. There will be ribbons and prizes, and lots of fun. Water will be available for sale. Lunch will be whatever you bring in your own picnic hamper. If you have something to share, that would be wonderful. Plan to spend the day really enjoying our Chihuahuas.
