OLD BUSINESS:
2012 Specialty
Dale Van Camp reviewed the 2012 Specialty venues that were discussed at the June board
meeting. Three shows were proposed by the board to the club members: Orange Empire, Mission
Circuit and Pasadena. The meeting was then opened for discussion about the proposed venues
and any other venues a member would like to be considered. Other shows and sites discussed
were Bahia Sur, Mount Palomar, Lake Perris and Bates Nut Farm. The following points were
discussed for the various locations:
1. Geographical location
2. Venue conditions: indoors versus outdoors. The condition of the rings.
3. Parking: distance of parking to the show rings. Available parking space.
4. The day of the week the specialty would be held.
5. Traffic conditions driving to the show.
6. Typical weather conditions at the show.
Dorothea Cross mentioned that if the club has a summer meeting hiatus there may not be enough
time to get the Specialty organized. Dale Van Camp said that committees will still be selected and
can work over the summer.
Dale Van Camp handed out ballot sheets with the proposals and a summary of each show. Votes
were taken. Ed Comber counted the votes.
Results: 17 ballots were counted. There was 1 vote for Bahia Sur; 1 vote for Mission Circuit; and
15 votes for Orange Empire.
The 2012 specialty will be held at Orange Empire.
Summer Hiatus
Colleen Comber discussed the board proposal for a summer hiatus in July and August, with a
puppy match during the hiatus. There were discussions if the puppy match was optional and if we
should vote on it separately. It was agreed to vote on summer hiatus only. All members voted by a
show of hands. A majority voted for the summer hiatus. The proposal was passed.
There were discussions about the puppy match. It was agreed the venue would be Neal Snipes
Park in Norco. No dates were set but would be on a weekend without a show. Kristie Faulk
motioned to have a fun match in July or August, and this was seconded by Colleen Comber. The
fun match details still need to be determined. Valerie Brown said she would handle the
reservations at Neal Snipes Park, once a date was determined.
Tax Filing
Dale Van Camp discussed the issues regarding filing the club tax return. She has a call next
Wednesday with IRS and should be able to file the tax return at that time.
Wee Doggie Tales Editor
Colleen Comber asked for volunteers to be the Wee Doggie Tales Editor. Dale Van Camp said she
had asked Mark Burhart if he would like to be the editor but he declined due to current
commitments. Dale Van Camp will remain the editor until another member volunteers.
NEW BUSINESS:
Dale Van Camp was contacted by a person who is looking for a long coat Chihuahua for a pet.
Contact Dale Van Camp for more information.
NEW MEMBERS:

ADJOURNED: Pat Campbell motioned to end the meeting and was seconded by Kristen Roe. The

was adjourned at 7:53pm.
